The objectives of this workshop are to:
- Identify current and emerging natural language processing (NLP) efforts used to capture clinical information from unstructured text (i.e., clinical notes or narratives)
- Provide insights into utility of and challenges in designing and implementing NLP systems to capture relevant or missing information from clinical notes or text
- Discuss the use of NLP to conduct post marketing safety surveillance and inform the design and execution of clinical trials for medical products (drugs, biologics, devices)
